stand up on the board
If you are playing for the first time, it is best to choose calm water, no boats and floating objects around.
At the beginning, you will feel that kneeling on the board is easier than standing up. Next, start a simple explanation. If you start water skiing:
1: The board is placed at the diving place, standing beside the board, the paddle is leaning against the edge of the board like a bracket paddle, and the paddle page is inserted into the water.
2: Grasp the middle of the edge of the board with both hands, and hold the paddle in one hand at all times.
3: Kneel down to the middle and rear of the board.
4: Kneel down to feel the balance point of the board. So that the head of the board will not lift up and the tail will not sink into the water.
5: Hold one side of the board firmly with your hand to stabilize it.
6: When you feel ready, stand on one foot first, then stand up, where your knees are on your knees. Of course, you can also bring a friend to help you hold the board and make you stand up.
Water skiing position:
How do you keep your balance on the board when you stand up?
1: Stand with your feet parallel, maintaining a hip distance. Stand in the middle of the board, don't lean to the side.
2: Keep your toes forward, knees bent, and back straight.
3: Use your hips for balance, not your upper body.
4: Keeping your head and shoulders straight and steady, use your glutes to position your body weight.
5: Look ahead, don't just stare at your feet.
6: As with cycling, when you move forward, it's easier to balance.
Paddle Skills:
When you feel that you have a good balance on the board, you can really enjoy the fun of water skiing.
Here are some tips for water skiing:
1: When you slide on the right, hold the lower part of the paddle with your right hand and the upper part of the paddle with your left hand.
2: The curvature of the propeller head is facing away from you, which may seem unreasonable to your vision at first.
3: Keep your arms straight and feel the paddle with your body. Your belly is stronger than your arms.
4: When paddling, push down with the upper hand.
5: Insert the paddle into the water first, then pull it down to the ankle with force to get out of the water.
6: At the beginning, each stroke can be relatively short, and can be practiced closer to the board. You don't have to put a lot of effort into it in the first place.
7: At the beginning of the paddling, paddling with a small support force will make each stroke more effective and further.
8: If you want a straighter stroke, you can stroke 4.5 times on one side and then turn to the other side.
9: When changing sides of the paddle, don't forget to change the upper and lower positions of the hands.
Cornering skills:
There are many easy ways to corner while waterskiing.
1: One-side paddle control method: As the name suggests, you can use the paddle to paddle on one side all the time to turn. Want to turn left? Ok, keep swiping on the right. The opposite is also true. until the board turns in the direction you want. This will generally turn a big bend, and the required operating area is relatively large.
2: Tail paddling method: You can use the paddle to paddle repeatedly on both sides of the tail to adjust the direction.
3: Sweeping paddle method: Contrary to the first method, this is to ski from the back to the front like sweeping the floor on the side where you want to turn.
Also, standing slightly back when cornering, or looking over your shoulder in the direction you want to turn, will help you turn faster and better. Turn in the direction of your strength. If you are right-handed, stand in front of your left foot and put your weight on your right foot to turn right faster.
